Differentiated Instruction

Children come with distinctive background experiences, language, interests, and ways of engaging in learning. They have varied levels of knowledge of print and written language skills, as well as different levels of content vocabulary. Creating a tutoring experience where all students can learn means that both the tutoring environment and instructional program need to be designed to accommodate the range of interests and skills of students. Differentiation means taking into consideration all of these factors on which there are significant differences among children. From there, instruction is created using a multi-sensory approach, so all students can be successful and realize their full potential.
